Google today reported the release of new desktop application for Google Drive clients, called Drive File Stream, which is presently accessible to G Suite clients. The application will fill in as a substitute for the Google Drive desktop application that will be closed down for good, one year from now – a fair enough date to give clients a lot of time to do the switch.

The organization had before mentioned its plans related with this transition.

Back in July, Google said it would combine its desktop document synchronize applications for Google Drive and Google Photos for customers into a new application called “Backup and Sync” ahead of its plan to end support for Google Photos and Google Drive applications for Mac and PC.
